Why won't my table view show up in the detail view controller of a master-detail project template?

I am using a master-detail project template. For some reason the table view I put on the detail view controller isn’t appearing, or any other control I put in it. What should I check?

I figured out that I forgot to set the table view datasource and delegate properties.
