Chapter 6 - Math

It seem to me that the math at the beginning of this chapter unveils some of the mystery of the machine learning algorithms, I tried to follow that section but most of the math was over my head to be honest, but I have a willing to understand that section. I would like to do a math self study at home and I would appreciate If you could recommend some books that take someone with basic math knowledge to the level to understand what it was explained in chapter 6.

Thank you!

I would suggest using http://khanacademy.org, which has a lot of great courses on basic math. The math used in machine learning is mostly linear algebra, but if the explanations in chapter 6 went over your head, it’s probably a good idea to revisit high school mathematics before moving into linear algebra. (When I did this a few years ago, I used Khan Academy but also a book called Math Overboard.)
