Did having the app association file in the .well-known directory help?

I did unfortunately find others having a similar problem online, but unfortunately I have yet to find a solution to resolve this. The best I could find is steps that others have taken but to no avail. Please do share any findings that you may have so that perhaps others can benefit.
yes, it did help trigger the autofill
