Performing tasks in the background so that iOS does not freeze the application

Hello gurus, can you help me to reach out some functionality from iOS.

I need to set some settings in the application in time so that the application wakes up at a certain point in time and initiates a socket connection to the server itself in order to receive notifications from other users as quickly as possible, for example, so that other users can wake up me with alerts. I know that in iOS, by default, the operating system freezes applications running in background. There is a voip mode that seems to help keep the application in background without fear of being frozen.
Сould you help me or throw me resources for documentation?

@jerryngton Do you still have issues with this?
